Pastor Douglas came to First Baptist Church after pastoring at Platte Valley Baptist Church in Casper Wyoming. He was called by unanimous congregational vote in March 2004. He has the unique privilege of pastoring the same church in which he came to know the Lord during VBS in the 1960s.
He and Pattie have been married happily married for 35 years as of this last May. They have five grown children, three sons who are married and have given Pastor and Pattie 8 wonderful grandchildren. All three sons and their families live in Arizona with the exception of James’ family who are in transition moving to Phoenix from Wyoming. Owen and his family live and work in Prescott Valley, and Doug II and his family live Bagdad where Doug works for Freeport McMoRan. Pastor and Pattie have two daughters, Lara and Emily. Lara just finished her first year at Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown Wisconsin. Emily will join her sister at MBBC as a freshman this fall.
Pastor and Pattie are both working full time to complete their educations through Tennessee Temple University’s distance program in Chattanooga. Before entering the full time ministry Pastor worked as a Victim Witness Advocate and a Hospice Volunteer in the 1980s and 1990s. Pastor also worked for many years in the mining industry both open pit and underground. After a life changing injury while working underground he became a Nationally Certified Surgical Technologist.
Pastor and Pattie have a great love for missionaries and preachers. They love to show hospitality by entertaining them and their families in the new home that God so miraculously provided as often as they can.
